Minutes of the Meeting held on 1 July 2025 at 10.00 atRomiley Life Centre

1. Minutes of the meeting on 6 May 2025 were accepted as a correct record.
2. Matters arising: Thanks to Terry for setting up the WhatsApp group.
3. Treasurer’s Report: PR reported a balance of £2361.35after paying for plants and a donation from the Chai Village Café.

5. Wildflower meadow –There are some wildflowers growing in the area, including Yellow Rattle, Centaurea and Cranesbill. Seeded turf will have to be purchased next Spring. Extra Yellow Rattle seed will be sown again in the autumn. Action PB
6. Trees – The problem trees reported by neighbours have been inspected by Anthony Crook. His conclusions were that the dead Fir tree and the Lime tree with dead branches were the responsibility of the residents. Jonathan Headlam should communicate this to them rather than the FoRP. Anthony asked if the Poplar sapling by the Compstall Road entrance could be removed. Action PB, AA, JH
7. School bed – Tracey and Jean have continued to extend the planting. In the central area some donated Achillea Ptarmica ‘The Pearl‘ has been planted.
8. Wet beds – The larger bed has been weeded. The school entrance bed is next for attention. Action TH
9. Centre bed – Several weeding sessions have taken place. Action PB/JB/MA/BC/JY
10. Optician’s bed – This area is gradually being improved. PR/AG/MA
11. Compstall Rd – A gardening session has been spent in this area but it is too warm and dry to undertake replanting. Neighbours have offered water. Action All
12. Carlton Ave – This area has been weeded and tidied. The Cotoneaster needs cutting back. Action TH/MA
13. Tubs – Thanks to Jean and Barbara for keeping the displays going all spring. The tub near the playground has been redesigned and replanted but a Cordyline has been stolen. More water is always needed. Action JB
14. Gardening – Saturday 19 and Saturday 26 July 2025.Action PB
15. Other business
- FoRP20th Anniversary Tracey’s speech at the celebration will be edited and submitted to the Stockport Post. Action PB
- Romileyin Bloom Philippa met the RHS judge and showed him the park. He seemed impressed with how well used and cared for the park is and was interested in the wildflower area.
- Social The next meal will be on Friday 26 September at Bakhara. Action JB
- Park Gates Key The lock appears to have been changed. A new key will be requested ActionPB
