Minutes of the Meeting held on 3 May 2022 at 10.00am at Romiley Life Centre

Minutes of the meeting on 1 March 2022, and the Addendum to confirm the discussion about changing the terms of the bank account to requiring one signature so that we could apply to bank online were accepted as a correct record.
Matters arising from the minutes – Sign for the Compstall Rd entrance - there has still been no action, so Tracey will follow this up again. TA
Treasurer’s Report 
In March and April £463.20 has been spent on trees, £159.42 on plants for the new school bed and £103.52 on plants for the new tub. Six payments of £30.00 have been received from stallholders for the Fun Day. The balance is £2026.59. Donations towards the costs have been promised from the WI for one tree, and from the Romiley and Marple Lions for the other tree and the tub.
Action Plan
Wildflower meadow –The grass was cut at the end of March. Jonathan Headlam has met the TLC manager in charge of the mowers to try to ensure that it is not cut again until September. Anthony Crook has supplied 150g of wildflower seed, which needs to be planted as soon as possible. PB/AC
Trees – The damaged Hawthorn near the Compstall Rd entrance has been replaced. Two more Betula have been purchased and planted. The final one is due from SMBC in the autumn. AC/PB/TH/AS
School bed – The first new plants were put in last Saturday. Gaps will be filled when plants become available. Any spare white Phlox would be appreciated. TH/AS/PB
Work has continued to clear and add to the planting in the section nearest the road with the Foxgloves growing well. TA

Wet beds – The Marsh Marigolds are flowering in both beds, and they are being weeded regularly. TH/AG
Centre bed - Tracey will replant the Dahlias soon. Regular maintenance continues. More shrubs will be planted to try to stop people walking through. BS/TA
Optician’s bed – Alan has continued with regular maintenance. Donated Aquilegias were gratefully received and planted last Saturday. AS/PR
Compstall Road – A tidying session is needed before the Fun Day. PB/TA 
Carlton Avenue – this bed has been weeded but will need attention again in the summer. PB
Tubs –Thanks to Jean, Pam and Barbara for continuing to keep the tubs looking good. The new tub at the Compstall Road entrance is in place and Jean has put in some more permanent planting. Thanks to the Lions for offering to contribute to the cost of the plants. JB
Beech hedge – Work has started on tidying the hedge from the school side. Work will continue at the earliest opportunity TA/AA
Fun Day – plans are well under way for the Fun Day on 25 June. The application to SMBC has been submitted and plants to sell are being acquired. Tracey is pursuing posters for display, the gazebo for the FoRP stall will be checked and Tracey will update the display board to show some of the work that has gone on during the last two years. The next meeting will take place on Tuesday 5 July at 10.00. in the Life Centre. Thanks to the Life Centre for hosting us.
Other business 
Sunflowers for Ukraine - Tracey will plant some of her seedlings in the park. TA
Spring Clean – The FoRP took part in the Borough wide litter pick on 1 April. 
Jubilee Street Party – The arrangements for the party and road closure on 3 June were noted.
