2. Matters arising:  there were no matters arising.

3. Treasurer’s Report: TA reported a balance of £2154.23 on behalf of PR, including one donation from the Coronation Party organising group. The money will be used to help fund a replacement for the damaged Plane Tree. A message of thanks has been sent.

4. Action Plan

  • Wildflower meadow – The grass has been left uncut, though they have increased the area for some reason. A number of wildflowers have been seen, including the all-important Yellow Rattle but it will probably take a couple of years for there to be enough flowers to make an impact. A session removing docks is needed - PB
  • Trees/Hedges – AA will complete the remainder of the beech hedge on the school side in the summer. The park has been offered five new trees by AC, partly to replace damaged trees. TH reported that the six donated Paulownias are growing well. Larger pots and compost are to be sourced or bought. PB
  • School bed – The Phlox have been purchased and will be planted out as soon as the weather is suitable. PBRegular maintenance continues. Keep off signs will be made to try to stop the plants being trampled. TA
  • Wet beds – The Doronicum has been planted. Regular maintenance continues. TH
  • Centre bed – Regular maintenance continues. Some Helenium are ready to be split and transferred to the school bed.  AS
  • Optician’s bed – regular maintenance continues.
  • Compstall Rd – The boundary fence has been installed.Another gardening session is required soon. Some donated Hakonechloa will be planted along the border. PB
  • Carlton Ave – It was decided to focus on shrubs or larger plants in this bed, as smaller plants are not surviving. PB
  • Tubs – JB has kept the tubs neat and the Lions’ and the Carlton Avenue entrance tubs are looking especially good. Incredible Edible Romiley have requested some edible plants in the park, so it is suggested that we plant herbs in the tubs near the play equipment. JB A reply will be sent suggesting this. PB

5. Social – Lunch at The Swan at Kettleshulme, with an optional visit to Rosses’ Nursery, was agreed for Wednesday 9 August. JB
